To start receiving Home Care services at Russian Aged Care, you need to get a confirmation of your eligibility for these services and level of funding available. The process will consist of three steps:
Step 1 – Apply for an Assessment
The first step to access government-funded HCP services is to get assessed by My Aged Care. You or your representative need to apply for an aged care assessment (see information below for more details). An interpreting service will be available if you need help or want to communicate in a language other than English. Once your application has been submitted, you will be notified to confirm when the assessment will be done at your home or over the phone (normally within 2-6 weeks).
Step 2 – Participate in the Assessment
The assessor will assess your care needs by asking what support you have from your family or friends, how you’re going with completing daily tasks around the home and if you have any health concerns. After the assessment, you will receive a letter to tell you of your assessment outcome including your eligibility to receive a Home Care Package, your level of care and the unique referral code.
Step 3 – Get in touch to commence your HCP services at Russian Aged Care
Once you have been allocated a Home Care Package, you will have just 56 days to start using your package or you may lose your funding. Contact us and our dedicated staff will guide you through how to get your service started.
Note, if you are not receiving aged pension, you will be required to lodge an income assessment with either Services Australia or the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA).
